I knew the brand had a strong British heritage which really appealed to me. As I was straight out of university, I wanted to work for a smaller company, where I could really get stuck in and learn a lot quickly.
Reviewing new samples and trims, liaising with our suppliers, having meetings with different internal departments, looking at new ideas for future seasons. No day is ever the same!
The people! There is a real team spirit, with everyone wanting to do the best for each other.
Seeing the first samples of my Umbrellas, the first range I bought on my own, come in and the great reaction they received. Now they are in store it’s great to finally see them on sale! I can’t wait to see someone walking down the street with one!
Any Buying job is very fast paced, and you have to be ready to juggle lots of tasks at the same time. But I like being busy, I would hate to be bored!
It seems that there is a real effort to match people’s personalities on teams, to ensure everyone works well together. I think this is really important and adds to the great team ethos.
Really get to know the brand by visiting as many stores as you can, seeing the customers shopping and talking to our Sales Assistants. Some of our biggest fans also write great blogs and run fan Facebook pages. These can be really great to hear what our customers really think!
I love the large scale florals like Greenwich Rose and Hampstead Rose. I also love the Garden Fairies print from Kids, it reminds me of The Flower Fairies I used to read as a kid! But my favourite prints are still to come in future seasons!
The Classic Slip On Trainer in Blossom Bunch. They are super comfy and I get so many compliments when I wear them! Everyone is really surprised to hear we sell footwear!
