Why did you join Cath Kidston?

I joined Cath because when I was younger I loved the store and the atmosphere and it was always my go to for little gifts and cute pieces. When I saw a vacancy in the Glasgow store I couldn’t resist applying alongside my degree. I wasn’t wrong, the Glasgow team were so warm and taught me the ropes right away. I then applied for a HO position and ended up here thanks to the international team.

What do you get up to on a typical day?

Everything - the majority of my day is ensuring outlet stores have the right stock package and are ready for upcoming events in their stores. I work closely with my department merchandiser and it’s nice to get insight into the world of buying and marketing with weekly conference calls with stores. I also like visiting the stores and seeing the displays and co-ordinating with VM.

What do you love most about working here?

The relaxed environment and the attention to detail of colleagues. It is also nice that everyone chats to everyone. I also like Fridays after pay day, it's cake day, what more could you want?

What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?

Moving from store to head office, it was intimidating at first but everyone was so kind and helpful. I do miss store but I like that I’ve worked in stores too as gives me an understanding of the products which is important in allocation.

What is it really like to work here?

Fun, I like it that day to day tasks change and my boss lets me get involved in her tasks if I am interested. I enjoy the pace even though sometimes it's very busy and I feel like there's not enough time in the day.

What do you think makes Cath Kidston unique as an employer?

Relaxed and friendly environment, I like the idea that Kenny (CEO) sits on same floor as everyone else and that all levels of team members engage. It’s a global company but still feels homely and welcoming. I think it’s nice as well that the head office is filled with Cath stuff, so you can’t forget where you are!

What piece of advice would you give to someone who was thinking of applying to work for us?

Be yourself - there is a real mix of people and I think that is what makes it such a diverse engaging environment.

A little bit more about you

What’s your favourite Cath Kidston print?

Tough one, there are sooo many!! I am always a big lover of the Button Spot but that’s boring so probably in current season, I am loving Orchard Bloom - it’s got such beautiful colours and is so summery and cute.

What is your all-time favourite product of ours?

I love the Sewing Baskets, I started shopping at Cath for the haberdashery and they’ve got cooler over the years! Although the Wine Cooler is the one I’ve been using most recently as it’s so handy for summer days in the park!
