I’ve always been a huge Cath fan, so when I saw the visual merchandising job advertised on the website, I jumped at the chance. I’d always admired the beautiful displays with their distinctive Cath style, and knew I wanted to be involved!
My job as a VM is so varied, a typical day could be anything from installing new window displays, to shop floor moves, dressing mannequins or training staff. Every so often I go to Head Office to help set up new season launches for plannogram in the Mock Shop. My week will normally start with a management floor walk, where we discuss any changes or ideas to make the shop look as beautiful, but be as commercial as possible. This will help me to write my task plan for the rest of the week.
Apart from all the lovely people and beautiful product, I love how I’m always busy and no two days are ever the same. I really feel I’ve progressed and developed my skills during my time at Cath, thanks to a very supportive management team.
I recently supported at the new Plymouth store set-up. It was lovely to see the shop go from an empty shell, to at the end of three days of very hard work, an amazing new Cath store full of beautiful product.
It’s so much fun to work with product that you love, with such a passionate and enthusiastic team. No two days are ever the same.
I’ve never worked for a company where all the staff are so warm, friendly and enthusiastic. Everyone genuinely wants to be here because they love the brand, which is what I think makes the company so special.
I always think writing a cover letter about why you love the company and the reasons you want to work for them is always a good idea. Everyone who works for Cath is so enthusiastic and passionate about the company, so its good show that you are too!
Button Spot, everything in my bag at the moment accidentally matches!
Anything with Stanley on it! Growing up, my family dog looked a lot like Stanley, so we ended up collecting everything, from the salt and pepper pots to cushions.
